Faith United Church of Christ
continues to celebrate

Yes, we continue to celebrate God's presence in our world through Jesus.  This is a season of discovering and recognition.

Why not join us on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. for worship and discovery?  Why not join us in our ministry to Shelter House during the month of February as we move through this Epiphany Season.

Each Sunday in February we are asking for donations of personal care items to be donated to Shelter House.  Some suggestions include deodorant, shaving cream, razors, lotions, soap, OTC remedies acetaminophen and ibuprofen, for example.  You might also check out your linen closet for gently used sheets, blankets, wash clothes, and towels.  A more complete list can be found at  Shelter House web site (just right click on this link to get there).

Sunday, February 9 join us to decorate cup cakes for Shelter House residents.  We will frost and decorate those cupcakes following worship.  Also check out the Upcoming Events page for more information on our projects for Shelter House.

Faith United Church of Christ gathered in Annual Meeting Sunday, January 19, 2014.  We held a potluck brunch following worship.  The meeting followed the brunch.

A budget was adopted, we elected two new Church Council members, appoint delegated to the Eastern Iowa Association and heard reports from our various shared ministry projects.
The congregation adopted a process proposed by Faith Works to move forward with becoming an Economic Justice Congregation.  The members of Faith Works will continue to develop opportunities for the entire congregation to better understand the issues of economic justice and bring a proposed covenant to the congregation in the future.

Faith United Church of Christ is an open, affirming, just peace, nuclear free zone, accessible to all congregation that is currently engaged in a study about economic justice.
