Christmas in July is here!

Our annual fund drive for the Domestic Violence Intervention Program (DVIP) is going on all month, so you have plenty of time to round up need items for the residents of the DVIP home, located in Iowa City.  As of around two years ago, the DVIP now reaches beyond city and even county boundaries to assist victims of domestic abuse in a number of counties in southeast Iowa.
We will have a speaker from DVIP come talk with us after worship on 31 July, to give us an update on how that expansion is working and what it has meant to the Program and to the participants.

Mark those calendars, “Undie Sunday” is coming on Sunday, 24 July.  So please, please, please, don’t
forget your underwear that day!  Although this means new underwear and socks for all shapes and sizes, the DVIP website asks specifically for donations of women’s underwear (sizes 7-10) and pull-ups for toddlers.

So what else can you bring?  As per staff at DVIP, they currently are in most need of laundry detergent (any type) and infant formula.  The items on their top ten list are:

1. Baby formula
2. Laundry detergent, both high efficiency and regular
3. Used cell phones with chargers
4. Travel size Ibuprofen and Tylenol
5. Towels and wash clothes
6. Women's underwear sized 7-10
7. Pull-ups
8. Deodorant
9. Overnight bags and luggage
10. Twin sheets, fitted and flat

Please bring your contributions to worship on Sunday or drop them off during the week between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
